ECOINDIE-Games is a project funded by the Pompeu Fabra University as part of the Planetary Wellbeing initiative.
The goal of ECOINDIE-Games is to introduce secondary school students to critical discussions about sustainability through independent video games. By using indie games, the project aims to encourage reflection on environmental and social issues from a unique, engaging perspective.
The project is grounded in the idea of just sustainability as proposed by Agyeman (2008), which emphasizes the interconnectedness of environmental limits, social justice, and economic opportunity. Through this lens, ECOINDIE-Games explores how inequalities shape our understanding of sustainability and aims to foster dialogues around these topics in secondary education.
